A management consultant in the health care industry for 35 years, Alan has played a key role in developing strategic and business plans for a wide range of providers, including some of the largest academic medical centers and health systems in the country. He also serves as strategic advisor to many long-term clients.
A nationally recognized speaker and author, Alan has written numerous articles and five books on health care management. His book Healthcare Strategic Planning: Approaches for the 21st Century won the 1999 American College of Healthcare Executives' James A. Hamilton book-of-the-year award and is one of the organization's all-time best-selling health care management books. Alan also serves as a columnist for Healthcare Financial Management and Managing the Margin.
